Keynote:

Providing Positive Inclusive Experiences for Individuals with Autism Spectrum
Disorder
Inclusive opportunities for individuals with autism are now considered of high
importance in both treatment and in quality of life.  However, including children with
autism into natural environments such as schools and community activities involves
more than the child's physical presence at the location. Successful inclusion requires
educated planning, and trained implementation. This presentation will review the
principles in which positive inclusive experiences are built upon, and provide a
foundation for creating individualized programs in school, home and community.
Participants will gain encouragement and learn strategies to make inclusive
opportunities a reality for all children and adults with autism spectrum disorders.

Rick Clemens, M.A., has been involved in the integration and inclusion of both
children and adults with autism since 1985.  Rick has been a classroom teacher,
educational consultant, inclusion and behavior specialist, social program coordinator
and is currently the Founder and Director of Inclusive Education and Community
Partnership, a California based agency which has supported several thousand
children with autism and other disabilities in inclusive environments over the past 10
years.
